Naomi Martin RE: Starting Bar Coded Medication Administration

HI, All.

Our hospital’s PIS group has informed us that they will be upgrading this spring to allow them to support bar coded medication administration. I have been involved in BCMA before but never from the point of starting with a computer upgrade. Can anyone give me pointers on what things I should be sure to do before the process starts, what problems to anticipate, and what things I should never do?

I appreciate any help that anyone can give me on this.
